On November, 14,2019 Round table “Nigeria – Ukraine. Internationalization of Education: Perspective and Exposure Programs” was held. The event was held in the framework of cooperation between Sumy State University and Bingham University. The questions of event were discussed about the further development of cooperation between universities and the presentation of academic mobility programs, exchange of teachers, internationalization of educational programs and teaching.
On the meeting were present the Chancellor Professor William Qurix, the Deputy Vice Chancellor and Registrar, deans of the economics, computer science and medicine, as well as staff of advancement office and academic staff. Sum SU was presented by Vice-director of ARI FEM for coordination of cooperation with foreign institutions and work with foreign students Mrs.Tetyana Mayboroda and also lecturers currently teaching at Bingham under faculty exchange program: Mrs. Olena Shkarupa and Mr.Ivan Shkarupa from ARI FEM and Mr. Fedir Zhuravka and Mr. Serhii Mynenko from ARI “UAB”.
The meeting was held with the personal support of the Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine, Embassy of Ukraine in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a.i Mr. Sergiy Yushkevich, and the Director of the Nigeria-Ukraine Trade House, Mrs. Elena Nedryhaylo.
As a result of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on the implementation of academic mobility programs for students, transfer of students to continue studying at Sumy SU, development of practical-oriented programs for Nigerian students with the involvement of Ukrainian professors and experts, as well as cooperation in joint scientific projects.
