On June 5, 2020, the Lagos State Executive Council has approved the nomination of immediate ex-commissioner of Agriculture, Gbolahan Lawal, as the new monarch elect for Iruland Kingdom, the friend of ZED Association and Trade House “Nigeria-Ukraine”.
Mr. Lawal actively supports the development of economic relations between Nigeria and Ukraine.
Last year, with the support of the State Ministry of Agriculture of Lagos State, the Ukrainian-Nigerian project for the construction of the Badagri agro complex in Lagos was agreed, and social projects for the high-rise houses’ construction were discussed.
Mr. Lawal previously visited Ukraine in 2018 - attending exhibitions on agriculture and meeting with heads of relevant ministries and organizations, in 2019 - Nigerian delegation visit on the agro complex’s construction issues in Lagos State and participation in the Business Council meeting "Ukraine-Nigeria" at the Ukrainian CCI.
