Association "ZED" is finishing the preparation of an analytical report on trade and road transport through Poland. The purpose of such work is to make an objective assessment of the consequences of the blocking by Polish carriers of checkpoints on the Poland-Ukraine border for trade and international transportation and, in the following, to provide this report to the state authorities of Ukraine and influential associations and communities of both countries for reasoned communication about the solution of this painful problem.
Poland has become a key trade and logistics partner of Ukraine, a center through which commercial transactions and money flow are now taking place.
Such a key role allows a very small number of Polish structures to use Ukraine's relative dependence on such a neighborhood to solve other tasks of both economic and political nature in the domestic market of Poland. It is clear that such attempts are relatively temporary in nature. But they have relevant roots, interest on the part of our enemies, and, in general, cannot be a restraining factor in the development of relations between Ukraine and the EU.
The vast majority of commercial structures in Poland have become the beneficiaries of the expansion of trade with Ukraine, including trade mediation, use of transport terminals and routes, infusion into the Polish economy by our entrepreneurs, movement of money through Poland, etc. And so, it happens that a small part of business-oriented structures dominates in certain issues of global economic cooperation.
Of course, we will show our losses in the report, especially since they are absurd and significantly limit the ability to protect the eastern front of the EU. But there are no less interesting questions: what do other countries lose due to the blocking of checkpoints on the border between Ukraine and Poland, who has become the beneficiary of the expansion of trade between our countries on the part of Polish businesses, and who should join in solving the problems.
Our goal is to involve as many Ukrainian and foreign business associations as possible to help solve these issues by providing them with objective information and analytical materials. Commercial structures and some business associations help us in this, for example, the Council on Foreign Trade at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, AsMAP.
We consider the blocking of border crossing points with Poland not as a problem in relations with Poland, but as a task for the business community of the two countries to prevent and solve current problems in the spirit of mutual respect, mutual understanding and mutual benefit.
